This case happened to my friend, when a newly purchased laptop has been infected with a virus autorun.inf. The virus is destroying almost all the drives on your hard disk, in some cases, when the drive is infected with a virus autorun.inf, you will not be able to access the drive completely. You have to browse the drive by pressing Ctrl E key from the keyboard.


In this post I will show you a method to remove autorun.inf virus manually just use winrar application, no antivirus or malware program.

Solution to remove autorun.inf virus just by using Winrar.

Step 1: First Disable CD / DVD or USB Autorun in Windows, if you do not know how to, read my article here.

Step 2: open the Winrar program (Start-> All Programs-WinRAR.exe> WinRar->)

Step 3: Now Browse to each drive infected autorun.inf by using winrar explorer .
Step 4: Here you'll see all the files are hidden under the winrar to drive you choose

Step 5: Look for autorun.inf file and open it using notepad.

Step 6: On Autorun file, there are several files with the EXE extension. exe file extension is the leading cause of a virus formed.

Step 7: Write file with extension . Exe mentioned in the autorun.inf file.

Step 8: Now look at the . Exe extension file is located on the drive (eg c: /​​), Delete autorun.inf file along with its

Step 9: Restart your Operating System. Now your system is free from Virus Autorun.inf.

Note: Repeat the same process if the USB or other drive autorun.inf infected with the virus.
