How to Disable / Turn off Autorun on Windows

Autorun in windows XP or windows 7 sometimes be like a double-edged sword. On the one hand autorun easier for us to make the automation program runs like when you insert a CD or flash. But on the other hand is great danger of automation such as computer virus infection would be very detrimental problem. Of course we do not bother to reinstall the computer again, right?


Here's how to disable / turn off autorun:
    1. Click the Start menu, click RUN (windows xp), in the search field type in the Run (windows7)
    2. Type GPEDIT.MSC in RUN column
    3. After the Group Policy screen appears click the System folder on the menu "User Configuration" and "Computer Configuration"
    4. In the Settings column, double-click "Turn off Autoplay" Interface Group Policy "User Configuration" Interface Group Policy "Computer Configuration"
    5. Once the screen appears "Turn off Autoplay" properties, click
       Settings tab and select the option "Enable" on the menu "Turn off Autoplay" then Select "All Drives" in the "Turn off Autoplay on"
    6. Then click the "OK"
    7. Click "Close" to exit the screen "Group Policy"
    8. restart the computer
